Have you ever noticed that we tend to move away from what is good for us? Exercise, healthy diet, budgets, healthy relationships, our relationship with God are all things we want. But, without intentional effort, none come with ease. You have to make time for it to see results.

Being a part of a Community Group is one of the most important and intentional steps a person can take to grow in their faith. A Community Group is a group of people you are investing in and who are investing in you. It is a group of people you can share your life with, who will encourage, support, and challenge you!

God’s plan for you is not to live life alone, but to share it with others. If you don’t have a Community Group, then ask yourself, “Who are the people in my life that I could ask to be a part of a group?” It could be friends, colleagues, neighbors, or family. They don’t have to be involved at Church of The Servant. They may not go to church at all. In fact, they may be wrestling with whether or not they believe in God. Who do you know that might be waiting on an invitation from you? There is not a description of what a Community Group must look like, but there is a goal! The goal is to have relationship with others that ultimately leads you and them to a stronger faith in Jesus Christ.

Who will you invite? Your Community Group can be as small as 3 and as large as 12. It’s up to you. Two to three times each year we will offer free resources for the Community Groups that will be connected to a sermon series.

We believe there is no better way to help a person grow in their faith than being a part of a Community Group! Contact us for more information.

Small Groups Currently Available

A number of small groups focused on common interests currently meet at Servant.

  • God’s Handiwork Quilting Class - We have a Quilting Group at Servant that meets every Tuesday morning from 9:30 until 11:30. We work on our individual projects and sometimes create a quilt together. We share ideas and cheer one another on as we see beautiful creations come to fruition. If you are a quilter, or want to learn to quilt, please join us! A contact person is Jan Green at, or 405-317-8215.
  • Crafty Sisters - This group meets on Tuesday mornings from 9:30 to 12:00 in North Adult Center, Rooms 7 and 8.  They enjoy all sorts of "crafting" - scrapbooking, cards, coloring, water colors, making jewelry, or learning a new craft. Bring your own craft project and share fellowship at the craft table. New crafters are always welcome.  Questions?  Contact Debbie McCord, or 405-513-1017, or Joyce McDaniel, or 405-596-6798.

We work on our own projects and also charity projects, gifts for new babies at Servant, etc. We love sharing new patterns with one another and socializing is a big part of our time together. • Mahjong - Have you walked by the MahJongg players at Servant and thought that it might be a fun game to learn? MahJongg is a tile-based game that was developed in China. We meet to play on Tuesday afternoons right outside of 13.2 Cafe. If you love to play....or want to learn, please join us. We don't take it too seriously. We want to have fun and enjoy one another's company. If you are interested, please contact Patti Teague at 405-475-9765.

Other Sponsored Activities

Church of the Servant has been home to Scout Troop 177 for many years. These young men and women have been such an important part of our community. They have performed many work days and Eagle Scout projects; sold us cookies and popcorn to raise funds for their projects;  helped with our Christmas decorations; and so much more! For detailed information about Troop 177, please click here.

Eagle Scout Candidate Ben Power

We want to highlight Eagle Scout candidate Ben Power, who has completed his Eagle Scout project. Ben planned and supervised the planting of 76 Holly plants at the north side of the main entrance of Church of the Servant. It is a gift to the church that will last a long time and goes a long way to keeping our church beautiful.

We are proud of all of the Scouts in Troop 177!
