Developing strong relationships and being in a fun, supportive community is important for women. We need each other! Our Women’s Ministry is a place where you can deepen your relationship with Christ and with other women who seek Him. We continually work to offer opportunities that will help “light your path” in your own personal walk with our Lord.

“This is what I have asked God for you: that you will be knit together by strong ties of love,

and that you will have the rich experience of knowing Christ with real certainty and clear understanding.” – Colossians 2:2

We invite you to join our Bible studies, special events, and the other service

options that we provide. We would be blessed to have you come along with

us on our journey of discipleship!

Women's Ministry Welcomes

Lay Director of Women's Ministry

Barbara will be serving in 2019 as the Lay Director of Women’s Ministry Events and Mentoring Ministry Development.

A Message from Barbara

Barbara shares her own words of how she has followed Christ to this new endeavor:

“When you pray to God and ask Him for something, you better be ready to receive His answer. I learned this lesson the hard way! Fifteen years ago, I asked God to show me how to better serve Him. Within two days, I received a phone call asking me to lead the women at my former congregation. I fought this calling because I didn’t feel adequate to serve in this capacity. Then I remembered my prayer! I realized at that moment that God definitely has a sense of humor! My husband reminded me that God doesn’t call the equipped, but rather he equips the called.

Since that time, working with and leading other women has become my passion. Women need the love and support of other Christian women, but often don’t know how to get connected. This is where I step in. It is my goal here at Church of The Servant to have women from all walks of life connecting with one another and loving each other as sisters in Christ. I want to ignite a flame in women that will impassion them to reach out to other women, share their stories and extend a hand of love and friendship to each woman they meet. I want women to be excited to attend events because they have new friends that they can’t wait to see. We each have a story to tell and we each have a lesson to learn, so I want to make that happen. I want to be the thread that binds all women at Servant together. I’m so excited to be in this role and I can’t wait to get to know all of my new women friends!”

Sister-to-Sister Mentoring Ministry

Together We Are Stronger

On Sunday, February 17, Sister-to-Sister Mentoring Ministry had its first orientation/training meeting. The room was filled with excitement and enthusiasm as women met their new “sister” for the first time. Approximately 70 women are enrolled in this mentoring ministry and are partnered with a new “sister”. The training was led by Connie Harrison and Barbara Bonham.  It is not too late to sign up to be a part of this ministry. If you are interested in the Sister-to-Sister Mentoring Ministry, please contact Barbara Bonham.

B.R.A.S. Ministry

The B.R.A.S. (Bras Recycled And Shared) ministry is new and was started by a small group within our church. We provide not only bras to women and girls in need, but also a sense of confidence and selfworth. If you have some gently used bras that you don’t use or never really liked, now is the time to “tidy-up”. We want your BRAS! We need any bras that are clean and in good condition… all sizes and all shapes including nursing and sports bras. We furnish these bras to various local shelters and agencies including Skyline Urban Ministries, TEEM, PIVOT-A Turning Point for Youth, and Suited for Success. We collect all year long, and you can find a collection hamper located just outside of Earthglow Gift Shop.

Just the F.A.C.T.S., Ma'am!

A small group of concerned women have come together and formed a new group – F.A.C.T.S. – Feminine Aid from Church of The Servant. This group was born as a result of the recent mission trip to Kenya and is learning that the need for feminine hygiene supplies among lower income women, prisoners, etc. right here in our own backyard is as relevant as it is for the women in Kenya. The need is much greater in underdeveloped countries than in the U.S. , but it doesn’t diminish the fact that there is a need here at home. FACTS – In food insecurity families, nutrition often comes before cleanliness, so those items are the last into the shopping cart– IF money is still available. If you have never shopped the aisle in the stores where feminine products are sold, go check out the pricing and see the costs that females incur EVERY month. FACTS – It has been estimated that there are around 5,000 homeless high school students in the state of Oklahoma. If even half of them are female, their choices during their cycle may be to stay out of school because they have no feminine protection. That might equate to 10 weeks of learning they are missing each year simply because of a normal, natural process of being female. These are just some of the FACTS this group has been learning about low income females. Women of FACTS are trying to raise awareness about the need for feminine products, learn about the specific needs locally and help females get the feminine supplies they need so that during their menses, they can continue to work, go to school, or be comfortable in whatever setting they find themselves. Watch for details on an informational meeting in the future to educate people about this issue right here in our own backyard. If you are interested in helping with this project, please contact Ann Knutson or Barbara Bonham.
