MAY FISH APPEAL
Theological Education Endowment Fund

Theological Education is an important aspect of a Pastor’s development. This allows future leaders to grow in Biblical knowledge, train in practical skills of preaching and pastoral care, reflect upon the ups and downs of ministry in a safe space, and more. While this opportunity is accessible and financially viable for many future pastors in the United States, it is not in other parts of the world. For this reason, during the month of May, United Methodists from around the globe are making financial gifts to support the creation of a Theological Education Endowment Fund. These funds will be used to support the ministry education of pastors in places like Africa, Europe, and the Philippines.
Church of the Servant will be joining with our brothers and sisters from across the globe in this endeavor. All funds placed in the fish baskets or donated to Church of the Servant with “Fish” or “Education” in the memo line during the month of May will be given to this special cause. Thank you for your above-and-beyond gifts supporting theological education, helping the United Methodist Church fulfill Jesus’ great commission to make disciples of all nations! For more information, go HERE.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
"Love Like Jesus"

June 1 - 4, 2026
Join us for a fun and meaningful four days at Vacation Bible School as we discover what it means to Love Like Jesus!
Each day, children will explore engaging Bible stories alongside beloved children’s books written by local authors—helping them see how God’s love comes to life through kindness, compassion, and everyday choices. Through games, crafts, STEM activities, music, and snacks, kids will learn how to welcome others, show kindness, and live out their faith in real and practical ways. Stories will include favorites like the Good Samaritan, the Lost Sheep, Jesus Welcomes the Children, and the Wise and Foolish Builders—bringing timeless lessons to life in a way kids will understand and remember. It’s a joyful week filled with learning, laughter, and growing in faith—we can’t wait to see you there! Volunteers are needed, too! Be part of what God is doing in the lives of our children and sign up today. REGISTER HERE!

PROJECT TRANSFORMATION
June 8-11, 2026

As our thoughts turn to summer, Project Transformation* is once again seeking good listeners to help children read. We will once again provide 10 “readers” for the Chapel Hill UMC site of Project Transformation. This year, our volunteer week is June 8-11 (Monday through Thursday). The time is 10:00 AM - Noon. Each volunteer will listen to 3 or 4 children, one at a time, as the elementary children rotate through their morning activities.
If you are ready to sign up, please email, text, or call Pat McGarrity at patricia.mcgarrity@yahoo.com or 405-990-2265. We would love to have you volunteer all four days, but you may sign up for one, two, three, or four days. Thank you, and thanks to those who participated last year.
*Project Transformation is an eight-week summer camp that emphasizes reading and is sponsored by the United Methodist Church. The elementary-age campers meet Monday-Thursday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM, and are led by college-age young people.

CHURCH FAMILY COOKBOOK
Recipe Deadline: July 18, 2026

We’re creating something special—a Church of the Servant family cookbook, hosted by Women’s Ministries—and we would love for you to be part of it!
This cookbook will be filled with the recipes that bring us together… from potlucks and holidays to everyday favorites shared around the table. Each recipe tells a story, and together they will create a meaningful collection from our church family.
Imagine flipping through pages filled with familiar names and beloved recipes from your church family.
We invite you to submit one or more of your favorite recipes—family classics, holiday dishes, potluck go-tos, or anything that’s special to you. Simply complete a RECIPE FORM and place it in the clear plastic box at the Welcome Center by July 18, 2026.
Cookbooks will be available for purchase later this year—just in time for Christmas gift-giving! Thank you for sharing a piece of your kitchen and your story. We can’t wait to see this collection come together. Questions? Please contact Cindy Fast at cfast@churchoftheservant.com.
