MAY FISH APPEAL
Theological Education Endowment Fund
Theological Education is an important aspect of a Pastor’s development. This allows future leaders to grow in Biblical knowledge, train in practical skills of preaching and pastoral care, reflect upon the ups and downs of ministry in a safe space, and more. While this opportunity is accessible and financially viable for many future pastors in the United States, it is not in other parts of the world. For this reason, during the month of May, United Methodists from around the globe are making financial gifts to support the creation of a Theological Education Endowment Fund. These funds will be used to support the ministry education of pastors in places like Africa, Europe, and the Philippines.
Church of the Servant will be joining with our brothers and sisters from across the globe in this endeavor. All funds placed in the fish baskets or donated to Church of the Servant with “Fish” or “Education” in the memo line during the month of May will be given to this special cause. Thank you for your above-and-beyond gifts supporting theological education, helping the United Methodist Church fulfill Jesus’ great commission to make disciples of all nations! For more information, go HERE.

PROJECT TRANSFORMATION
June 8-11, 2026
As our thoughts turn to summer, Project Transformation* is once again seeking good listeners to help children read. We will once again provide 10 “readers” for the Chapel Hill UMC site of Project Transformation. This year, our volunteer week is June 8-11 (Monday through Thursday). The time is 10:00 AM - Noon. Each volunteer will listen to 3 or 4 children, one at a time, as the elementary children rotate through their morning activities.
If you are ready to sign up, please email, text, or call Pat McGarrity at patricia.mcgarrity@yahoo.com or 405-990-2265. We would love to have you volunteer all four days, but you may sign up for one, two, three, or four days. Thank you, and thanks to those who participated last year.
*Project Transformation is an eight-week summer camp that emphasizes reading and is sponsored by the United Methodist Church. The elementary-age campers meet Monday-Thursday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM, and are led by college-age young people.
