OUR Vision
At Church of the Servant, our vision is to be a faith community that uses our talents to worship and celebrate God, serve others, and make disciples of Jesus Christ, all to glorify the Lord.
OUR Mission
At Church of the Servant, we believe God has called, prepared, and gifted us for this particular time in our history. As such we serve with a heart for missions, commit to prayer that changes lives, teach a love of the gospel and build a Christian community starting with each individual. We pray for His clarity and guidance in fulfilling our mission.
Our SERVANT Values
Service
We remember that great command to love our neighbors as ourselves (Mk 12:31) and do so by meeting the needs of our fellow children of God.
Education
Jesus calls us to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mk 12:30). We engage our brains fully with a desire to learn and an emphasis on teaching the Gospel message to others.
Relationships
In the Servant Faith Family we see one another as valued individuals made in the image of our Creator. For this reason we seek opportunities to know, encourage, and care for one another as Christ has done for us (Jn 13:34).
Venturous
Throughout Church of the Servant’s history, we have sought to meet people where they are, looking not to the past but for who God is calling us to be today. We do not shy away from risks but faithfully step towards God’s calling.
Active
Our faith is not to be purely academic or practiced for one hour on Sunday mornings, but is to permeate our entire lives. Each individual is called upon to play a participatory role in the Body of Christ.
Nature
Since the beginning of time, God looked at creation and called it “Good.” We celebrate the goodness we see every time we step outside our doors and seek to bring that celebration and care for all creation into our faith community and our very lives.
Trust
The Lord has trusted us to go forth, making disciples, and teaching all that Jesus shared (Matt. 28:19-20). We are humbled by that trust and reciprocate by trusting one another to make following in the footsteps of the one who first served us their highest priority.
our beliefs
DENOMINATION
We are a United Methodist congregation. To learn about what it means to be United Methodist go to www.umc.org/en/who-we-are/what-we-believe.
GOD
When we say the Apostles’ Creed, we join with millions of Christians through the ages in understanding God as a Trinity – three persons in one: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
JESUS
We believe in the mystery of salvation through Jesus Christ. God became human in Jesus of Nazareth; and His life, death, and resurrection demonstrates God’s redeeming love.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is God’s present activity in our midst. When we sense God’s leading, God’s challenge, or God’s support or comfort, it’s the Holy Spirit at work.
HUMAN BEINGS
Genesis 1:27 asserts that we’ve been made in the image of the Creator. Like God, we have the capacity to love and care, to communicate, and to create.

THE CHURCH
The Church is the body of Christ, an extension of Christ’s life and ministry in the world today.
THE BIBLE
We believe that the Bible is God’s Word and is the primary authority for our faith and practice.
BAPTISM
We believe that…
Through baptism, we are joined with the Church and with Christians everywhere. Baptism is a symbol of new life and a sign of God’s love and forgiveness of our sins. Persons of any age can be baptized. We baptize by sprinkling, immersion, or pouring. A person receives the sacrament of baptism only once in his or her life. If you are interested in becoming baptized, please connect with us by filling out the form below or call the church office at 405-721-4141.
COMMUNION
The Lord’s Supper is a holy meal of bread and wine that symbolizes the body and blood of Christ. It recalls the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus and celebrates the unity of all the members of God’s family. By sharing this meal, we give thanks for Christ’s sacrifice and are nourished and empowered to go into the world in mission and ministry. Communion is served in all worship services on the first Sunday of each month.

our story
Est. in 1968
In June of 1968, Norman Neaves came to Oklahoma City with a dream to reach and serve this city for Jesus Christ. On Sunday, September 8, 1968, this dream became a reality, and Servant’s first worship service was born and held on Northwest Expressway with 148 people joining. This dream to reach and serve still lives in the heart of Church of the Servant today. Our prayer and deep desire is to become the hands and feet of Christ in the world. We pray to live out our lives as servants, bringing glory to the ultimate servant, Jesus Christ.
Jesus once said to His disciples, “Whoever would be greatest among you, let him be your servant.” That simple yet profound statement
Jesus once said to His disciples, “Whoever would be greatest among you, let him be your servant.” That simple yet profound statement
has been at the heart and core of our church since its beginning. It is an expression of the essence of our church’s philosophy, and you find it expressed in our name: Church of the Servant.
A great church is not necessarily a church with a large building, a large budget, and a large membership. It is instead, according to Jesus, a church that discovers how to live in the world as a servant of Christ, just as Christ Himself first served His disciples by stooping down to wash their feet. Since our very beginning, we have wanted to place the primary emphasis of our church upon meeting the real needs of people, whoever they might be and whatever their needs might be.
