Financial Support – Texas Flooding

HELPING WITH RECOVERY EFFORTS THROUGH UMCOR
In recent weeks, we have all been heartbroken and praying for the individuals and families suffering loss of property, home, and life during the recent flooding in Texas. In the weeks following a natural disaster, as professionals continue search and recovery efforts as well as certify the safety of damaged areas, we might be unsure of exactly how to help. In these early days the best way to assist is through financial donations. While there are many quality organizations likely receiving donations, should you desire to give a special gift in support of recovery efforts, one organization to consider is the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR). This United Methodist agency is supported by apportionment and other special giving that covers their administrative work meaning that 100% of gifts given towards disaster relief goes to fully support those impacted by the designated disaster.

If you would like to give in this way, you may do so through the following link:

Or by giving a special donation to Church of the Servant in the offering basket on Sunday morning with "UMCOR" written on the memo line of your check or on the envelope of your gift. Church of the Servant will collect these offerings and then pass them on to UMCOR to continue their great work. Know that the Oklahoma Annual Conference's Disaster Response Coordinator is in continuous communication with their Rio Texas Conference counterpart and will let Oklahoma churches know if and when anything more is needed. In the meantime, thank you for continuing to pray and for any additional giving you select to provide at this time.
