national Diaper NEED awareness week

September 15-21, 2025

For 41 years, Infant Crisis Services has stood in the gap for families facing diaper need, the condition of not being able to afford a sufficient supply of clean diapers to keep your baby or toddler clean, dry, and healthy. ICS is one of three National Diaper Bank Network members in Oklahoma that helps to assist a combined 60,000 infants and toddlers annually in Oklahoma. Every day, ICS sees how it provides practical, real-time solutions for working families, and rescues babies and toddlers in crisis due to diaper need.

To highlight that work, this week Infant Crisis Services observes National Diaper Need Awareness Week (NDNAW), September 15-21, 2025, in collaboration with the National Diaper Bank Network, member banks, and other organizations. ICS is hosting a week of activities to raise awareness of this sometimes-hidden issue:
  • Almost 40 local restaurants, shops, and businesses are hosting diaper drives or give back nights for ICS. To find these fun opportunities, play the Diaper Bingo game.
  • Individuals or groups, friends, families, and coworkers can host diaper drives and then bring their donations to the home location, 4224 N Lincoln Blvd., between 2:00 and 5:00 PM on Sunday. Drives can be registered ONLINE.
  • You can participate virtually as well by purchasing items from their ONLINE REGISTRY and having them delivered to ICS.
  • Drop off diapers at Church of the Servant. Look for the ICS crib or bins located in the Concourse areas.

Nearly one in two families in the U.S. struggles with diaper need (The NDBN Diaper Check 2023: Diaper Insecurity among U.S. Children and Families). In Oklahoma, 23 percent of children under the age of 3 live in families earning less than 100 percent of the federal poverty level, according to the National Diaper Bank Network. Take time this National Diaper Need Awareness to see how you can help #EndDiaperNeed.
