Rise Against Hunger

Rise Against Hunger is growing a global movement to end hunger by empowering communities, nourishing lives and responding to emergencies.

Are you aware that Church of the Servant has packaged over 1.6 million meals for school children and feeding programs worldwide? Join us this year as we commit to packaging another 45,000 meals for Rise Against Hunger!

Why?

• 1 in 9 people on our planet go to bed hungry each night.
• Hunger kills more people each year than AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined.
• The first 1,000 days of a child’s life, from pregnancy through age two, are critical. A proper diet in this period can protect children from the mental and physical stunting that can result from malnutrition.
• 66 million primary school-age children attend classes hungry across the developing world, with 23 million in Africa alone.
• It’s possible to put an end to extreme poverty, hunger and injustice for all!

Once again, the Servant family of faith is joining together in raising funds for Rise Against Hunger. Servant family and friends are invited to give up a small indulgence during the season of Lent: that Starbucks or Sonic run, eating out, going to the movies, one meal a week, and then whatever you would typically spend each week on that item, donate that amount to Rise Against Hunger through Church of the Servant. You may do so by placing cash in one of the Fish baskets in the Celebration Center, by giving a check to the church with “Rise” written on the memo line, or by giving online at the link below. Our goal for 2026 is $20,000, which will allow us to package 45,000 meals to be sent around the world where food is scarce. After the third week of Lent, together we have contributed $6,518 towards that goal.

SUNDAY, APRIL 12, 2026
Church of the Servant will host our annual meal packaging event at the church on April 12, 2026, beginning at 1:00 PM. We will have two shifts: 1:00-3:00 PM and 3:00-5:00 PM. We hope to have 100 volunteers (or more) to make the event fun and successful. This is a wonderful opportunity to gather in mission as a church. Invite your Sunday school class, Bible study group, family, friends, and neighbors to join us! All ages are welcome.
