donut time

Sundays in November | Ages 3 years-Kindergarten

Sometimes we get so excited about the gift that we forget to remember the giver. So, this month we will take some time to look around at the wonderful gifts God has given us and teach our preschoolers that God is good!

We want our preschoolers to know that all the good things they see in the world are good gifts from a very good God Who loves them. And we can say “thank you, God!” Everywhere we look we see good gifts that God has given us, like friends and family, people who help us, and yummy food. . . like donuts! But DONUT forget to thank God because God is good!

Our memory verse this month comes from Psalm 107:1 which says, “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good.” This month, we will learn that we can thank God for God is good. We can thank God for food and family and friends. We can thank God for the people who help us.  Who is good? God is good!

STAND: DON’T FACE YOUR FEARS ALONE

Sundays in November | Grades 1-5

This month, we will learn about the connection between COURAGE and God’s character, as shown through God’s big story. Courage is being brave enough to do what you should do, even when you’re afraid.

As we continue our journey through God’s Big Story, we take a closer look at the lives of significant people in the Jewish Scriptures: Joshua and Caleb, David, Daniel, and Esther. Each of them trusted God and found the courage to face difficult circumstances. They also represent major time periods in Israel’s history—from entering the land of Canaan, the United Kingdom, and Exile.

Like these people we read about in the Old Testament, God may ask us to take a risk or do something we might not feel prepared to do. But God will also give us the courage we need to face that challenge. We can also look to Jesus. He faced the biggest challenge of all: death on the cross. Still, He chose to be brave and follow God’s plan.

Our memory verse comes from Joshua 1:9b which says, “Be strong and brave. Do not be afraid. Do not lose hope. I am the Lord your God. I will be with you everywhere you go.”

We will learn that we can do what we should even when others are afraid and even when things seem impossible. We can do what we should because God is with us. We will discuss how we can do what we should even when we don’t know what will happen.

hole in one

Sundays in October | Ages 3 years-Kindergarten

This month, we are talking about God’s plans for us. The prophet Jeremiah shares the wonderful truth that God knows the plans He has for us. Even when we don’t understand the plans and even when they are hard, we can still trust God because of Who God is, and God’s plans are always a hole-in-one!

God loves us, and God keeps His promises. We can fully trust God’s plans because God’s plans are always best!

Our memory verse this month comes from Jeremiah 29:11 and says, “’For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord.” This month, we will learn that God has a plan for each of us and we can always trust those plans. God’s plans are always the best, and God keeps His promises. We can trust God’s plans even when they’re hard.

Who has plans for us? God has plans for us!

CLIFFHANGER: THE STORY ISN’T OVER

Sundays in October | Grades 1-5

This month, we will learn about the connection between GRIT and God’s character, as shown through God’s big story. Grit is refusing to give up when life gets hard.

As we continue our journey through God’s Big Story, we take a closer look at the lives of Joseph and Moses. Both of these men trusted God through hard circumstances and would not give up. These are two heroes of the faith, and we hope to help kids see how their stories connect between Genesis and Exodus.

God has been faithful throughout history and has helped people get through and overcome incredible difficulties. God’s Son, Jesus, endured the pain of the cross and death itself so that we could have a forever relationship with God. God gives us the Holy Spirit to empower us to keep going, even when life gets difficult.

Our memory verse comes from Galatians 6:9 and says, “Let us not become tired of doing good. At the right time we will gather a crop if we don’t give up.”

We will learn how to hold because God is with us and there’s a bigger story. We will discuss how to hold on even when we don’t know what to do. We should hold on because God knows what we’re going through and is still in control.

ALWAYS

Sundays in September | Ages 3 years-Kindergarten

Our preschoolers are going to experience feeling sad, afraid, frustrated, and happy – sometimes all in one day! But here’s the good news: We are wonderfully made in God’s image, and God gave us all of these emotions!

We want preschoolers to know that they can trust God with all their hearts and talk to God about everything, including how they feel. And when they do, God will always listen and help them because God loves them no matter what.

Our memory verse this month comes from Proverbs 3:5 and says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart.”  This month, we will learn that God loves us when we’re sad, afraid, and frustrated. God loves us when we’re happy.

Who loves us no matter what? God loves us no matter what!

HIGH WIRE: DARING TO TRUST

Sundays in September | Grades 1-5

This month, we will learn about the connection between TRUST and God’s character, as shown through God’s big story. Trust is putting your confidence in someone you can depend on.

Throughout history, God has been faithful to us. God kept the promise to send Jesus to save us. When we remember that God will continue to be dependable, we can choose to trust God no matter what we face in life. The Bible shows examples of people who knew first-hand what it meant to trust God in many circumstances. This month, we focus on three of them who happen to be part of the same family: Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Through their stories, we’ll discover how we can trust God no matter what we face.

Our memory verse comes from Proverbs 3:5 and says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Do not depend on your own understanding.”

We will learn how to trust God no matter what, even when we have to wait. We will discuss how to trust that God has a plan and we can trust Him, even when we’re worried. We can’t wait to see you in September!
