PARADE OF THANKS

Sundays in November | Ages 3 years-Kindergarten

Gratitude sometimes feels like a lost art. Yet gratitude is an idea close to God’s heart. Think about all the Bible stories where people gave thanks to God. The Israelites celebrated God with feasts and festivals. The writers of the Psalms wrote songs of praise to thank God for being faithful. Throughout this month, we hope kids will learn to be grateful for everything God has done: for the world God made, for the promises God has kept, and for the new life God offers the world through Jesus. When we remember all these things, we can always be thankful.

Our memory verse this month comes from Ephesians 5:20 which says, “Always give thanks to God.” This month, we will learn to thank God for family, friends, and food. We can thank God all the time.

Who can you thank for everything? I can thank God for everything.

SHOUT OUT:
WHO HAVE YOU THANKED TODAY?

Sundays in November | Grades 1-5

This month, we will learn about the connection between GRATITUDE and God’s character, as shown through God’s big story. Gratitude is letting others know you see how they’ve helped you.

Our memory verse comes from Psalm 136:1 which says, “Give thanks to the Lord, because he is good. His faithful love continues forever.” We will learn that we always have something to be grateful for, and we should take time to say thank you. We will discuss how to make a habit of being grateful and how to celebrate what God has done.

Super Kids

Sundays in October | Ages 3 years-Kindergarten

Now is the time for our preschoolers to begin learning that God can help me be brave because the need to be brave— God-brave—will only grow throughout their lives.

What is God-brave? God-brave is . . .
. . . the kind of brave that does the right thing even when others don’t,
. . . the kind of brave that stands up to seemingly impossible circumstances,
. . . the kind of brave that trusts God during the darkest of times,
. . . the kind of brave that looks to God to help us be strong and courageous,
. . . the kind of brave that makes us SUPER KIDS—not because of what WE can do but because of what GOD can do.
Our memory verse this month comes from Deuteronomy 31:6 which says, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid…for the Lord your God goes with you.” This month, we will learn to be brave because God is powerful and is with us. We can be brave and trust God and help others. God can help us do brave things.

Who can help us be brave? God can help us be brave.

DRIVEN: WHAT’S INSIDE MATTERS MOST

Sundays in October | Grades 1-5

This month, we will learn about the connection between INTEGRITY and God’s character, as shown through God’s big story. Integrity is choosing to be truthful in whatever you say and do.

God is always good. Since the very beginning, God has been faithful and true. If God makes a promise, God keeps that promise. We are created in God’s image . . . and when we live with integrity, we reflect God’s integrity.

When Jesus lived on earth, He lived a perfect life and showed integrity in ways we can’t because of our sin. Jesus makes it possible for us to live as new creations. Through the Holy Spirit, we are being transformed into people of integrity. Who we are in private should match who we are in public. When we trust in God, we can make the wise choice and be truthful in whatever we say and do.

Our memory verse comes from Proverbs 10:9 which says, “Anyone who lives without blame walks safely. But anyone who takes a crooked path will get caught.” We will learn to be truthful with your whole life because when you’re not truthful, you lose trust. We will discuss how to do what’s right wherever you are. When you do what’s right, others can see God. We should focus on what’s true.

THIS OR THAT

Sundays in September | Ages 3 years-Kindergarten

An adult makes about 35,000 choices every day, but adults are not the only ones with choices to make. Children have their fair share of choices too—about 3,500 of them. Every. Single. Day. Should I eat this snack or that snack? Should I play with this toy or that toy? Should I do this and share or do that and keep it all for myself?

Knowing that our preschooler’s 3,500 daily choices will one day turn into 35,000 daily choices is why we want to teach preschoolers that, when they have a choice between This or That, they can trust that God knows what’s best for them.

Our memory verse this month comes from 1 John 3:20 which says, “God …knows everything.” This month, we will learn that God knows what is best for us and we can trust what He says. God knows what is best for everyone. We can trust God knows best even when it is hard.
Who knows what’s best for you? God knows what’s best for me.

HARMONY: TOGETHER IS BETTER

Sundays in September | Grades 1-5

This month, we will learn about the connection between FRIENDSHIP and God’s character, as shown through God’s big story. Friendship is using your words and actions to show others you care.

God created us for relationships. From the very beginning of the Bible, we see how important it is to have wise people in our life who help us understand how to honor God with our actions. When God sent Jesus, we were able to see the best example of friendship ever. Jesus showed us how much He loves us as He laid down His life for His friends. With His words and actions, Jesus showed friendship to everyone He met. We can reflect Jesus’ love best when we take time to care for our friends.

Our memory verse comes from Proverbs 17:17  which says, “A friend loves at all times. They are there to help when trouble comes.” We will learn about choosing friends carefully. Friends keep their promises, stand up for one another, and forgive one another.
